Here’s how: too many clowns telling black youth NOT to bother with school, that it’s “the white man’s game,” convincing a generation of males it’s somehow in their interest to be losers instead of learning math and science like Asian parents make their kids do in this country. My black father would’ve tanned my black ass raw if I told him I wasn’t going to school, but was pinning my hopes on being a professional victim, “rapping” my victimization to the world. They’re 60′s victims, is all!
Look, I don’t like country music that much, but I’m not going to go deliver a sermon about it, decrying its existence.
Sure, 90% of rap music today has no staying power, and is abysmally commercial, but if you’re going to have an opinion about the genre, at least have a good grasp of the entire narrative before you base your thoughts on the middle chapter of the book.
