Japan was defeated by MacArthur and the Australians. You are seriously mad to think otherwise. It was almost singlehandedly McArthur and his Island hopping strategy and incredibly effective.

After the Battle of Britain both the Brits and the Germans effectively neutralized each other where neither could get the upper hand. German in no theater could have knocked out Britain and Britain lacked the resources and manpower to properly attack Germany itself and was force to stick to the inefficient and costly bomber campaign.
How exactly did the US single handedly take on Japan when the lions share of the Jap Army was bogged down in China while the Brits were also fighting the Army in Burma from the beginning of the Pacific Theater?
America took on the Combined Fleet and a smattering of Army and Jap Marine units who were over extended and under supplied.
I’m not belittling the American effort in the East, but it was hardly a one nation effect.
